New Delhi, May 3 -- Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov had a telephone conversation with External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar on Friday, during which they discussed the rising tensions between India and Pakistan. Lavrov urged for dialogue and diplomacy to resolve the tensions.

The two foreign ministers "discussed topical issues of the Russian-Indian cooperation, as well as the aggravation of Indian-Pakistani relations following the terrorist attack near Pahalgam," according to a statement by the Russian Embassy.
