Moscow, Aug. 1 -- Russia has begun mass production of its advanced Oreshnik hypersonic missile systems, with the first systems having already been delivered to the Russian Armed Forces, President Vladimir Putin said today.
"The first mass-produced Oreshnik system and the first missile have rolled off the production line. It has been delivered to the military. It is working now," Putin said in a joint press conference with the Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko on Valaam, reports Russian state media TASS.
"We are not jumping. We are doing it calmly, there is no need to run ahead," Lukashenko added. Putin noted that everything is going according to plan.
