United Nations, April 28 -- Russia contributed $2 million to the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) last week, Russian Deputy Ambassador to the United Nations Maria Zabolotskaya said on Monday.

"Last week, Russia managed to allocate $2 million to support the activities of UNHCR," Zabolotskaya said during a UN Security Council meeting on refugees.

Zabolotskaya also recalled that approximately 5 million Ukrainians have left for Russia after Ukraine started shelling Donbas residential areas.

The diplomat also called for accountability for migrants deaths in the Mediterranean Sea, which she said has turned into a "mass grave."
