Patna, Jan. 12 -- With an aim to strengthen rural connectivity by expanding roads with heavy traffic under the Saat Nischay-3 programme, Bihar Rural Works Minister Ashok Choudhary on Monday said that selected rural roads will be widened to improve transportation and ensure smoother movement in villages.

Choudhary told news persons here that rural roads built as 3.75 metre wide single lanes will be upgraded to 5.5 metre wide double lanes where traffic pressure is high. He informed that the survey work for identifying such roads is being carried out at a fast pace and will be completed by the end of January. The survey is being conducted using app-based technology to ensure accuracy and transparency.
