Mumbai, June 9 -- The rupee on Monday appreciated by one paisa to close at 85.62 tracking muted moves in Asian peers, even as the dollar weakened ahead of closely watched trade talks between US and China, traders said.

At the interbank foreign exchange, the domestic unit opened at 85.61 against the greenback.

The partially convertible rupee recorded intra-day high and low at 85.60 and 85.73 respectively, dealers added.
