Mumbai, June 2 -- The Rupee on Monday bounced back to 23 paise to close at 85.38 on the selling US Dollar from foreign banks, dealers at the Forex Market said.

The domestic unit that was down since last four sessions, recovered by 18 paise at 85.43 against USD in early trade today and finished at 85.38, appreciating 23 paise as compared to its previous close.

Despite weak Dollar and sliding equity market pushed the domestic unit up, the dealers informed.

The Rupee recorded days high and low at 85.35 and 85.47 respectively, dealer added.
