Mumbai, May 30 -- The Rupee remained negative for the fourth straight session on Friday, tumbling down 14 paise to close at 85.61 on brisk demand for US Dollar from foreign banks, dealers at the Forex Market said.
The domestic unit that was down since last three sessions, smartly recovered by 18 paise at 85.29 against USD in early trade today.
During the day it erased earlier gains, and settled at 85.61, sliding 14 paise as compared to its previous close.
Strong Dollar and sliding equity market kept the local unit under pressure, dealers informed.
The Rupee recorded days high and low at 85.25 and 85.64 respectively, dealer added.
