Mumbai, June 24 -- The rupee on Tuesday appreciated by 65 paise at 86.10 in opening session as global crude oil prices fell after the US President announced a tentative ceasefire between Iran and Israel, forex traders said.

A weak greenback and a strong opening in the domestic equity markets further boosted the rupee, forex traders added.

The currency opened 64 paise higher at 86.11 against the dollar. It closed the previous session at 86.75.

The partially convertible rupee recorded intra-day high and low at 86.20 and 86.07 respectively, dealers added.
