Mumbai, May 29 -- The rupee remained weaker for the third straight session on Thursday, easing by three paise to close in red at 85.47 on growing demand for US Dollar from foreign banks, dealers at the Forex Market said.
No major fluctuation was seen throughout the session, as it opened at 85.48, declining by four paise, and finished at 85.47, down by three paise as compared to its previous close.
Despite positive close of domestic stock markets, the domestic unit remained under pressure today.
The partially convertible rupee recorded day's high and low at 85.44 and 85.50 per USD respectively, dealers added.
