Mumbai, June 9 -- The rupee on Friday depreciated by 3 paise at 85.66 in opening session on strong demand for the US dollar by bankers and importers, according to forex market.
"The opening today is probably just a retracement of Friday's move," a currency trader said. "With the US jobs data broadly positive for the dollar, the rupee is simply coming back under pressure."
The partially convertible rupee recorded an intra-day high and a low at 85.60 and 85.73 respectively, dealers added.
