Mumbai, May 22 -- Extending losses for the third straight session on Thursday, the rupee dropped by 39 paise to close negative at 86.07 against US Dollar, a one-month-low, on brisk demand for the greenback from foreign bankers and importers, dealers at the Forex Market said.
Though the rupee opened positive at 85.66, a tad up by two paise, it soon pared early gains and closed at 86.06, down by 39 paise as compared to its previous close.
The local unit's slide continued owing to outflow of foreign capital from domestic stock market, also, dwindling crude oil prices too hit the rupee sentiment.
The partially-convertible rupee recorded day;s high and low at 85.62 and 86.14, respectively, dealers added.
