Guwahati, Jan. 9 -- Assam's regional political party, Asom Jatiya Parishad (AJP) has accused the ruling BJP of manipulating the electoral rolls by carrying out Special Revision (SR) ahead of the next year's elections.

The regional party said that names of migrant and unfamiliar voters from Bihar are being included in Assam's voter lists to benefit the ruling party.

"Assam is not Bihar. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma must understand that just as the BJP captured power in Bihar by manipulating voter lists, the same cannot be done in Assam," a statement issued by AJP said on Thursday while adding that people of Assam would never allow the saffron party to decide the future of Assam by using voters from outside the state.
