Chennai, Nov. 21 -- The ruling DMK and its allies today staged a protest demonstrationslamming the Centre for refusing permission for the Madurai Metro Rail project.
The agiation, held at the Temple town of Madurai was organised under the banner of SecularProgressive Alliance (SPA) led by the DMK and was led by senior leaders and districtfunctionaries.
Apart from a large number of DMK cadres, members of the alliance parties took part in thedemonstration and shouted slogans condemning the BJP-led government for refusing nodfor the Metro Rail project in Madurai and hampering the growth of the Temple town.
