Bhubaneswar, Sept. 23 -- Proceedings of the Odisha Assembly were disrupted for the fourth consecutive day today following a noisy protest by opposition BJD members over the alleged curtailment of powers of panchayat representatives, forcing Speaker Surama Padhy to adjourn the House at 10:50 am till 4 pm.

The uproar began right from the Question Hour when BJD legislators, carrying placards and banners, trooped into the Well of the House shouting slogans against the BJP government, accusing it of "murdering" the panchayati raj system.

While BJD members staged protests near the Speaker's podium, Congress MLAs remained in their seats holding placards against both the BJD and BJP, alleging that both parties were deliberately stalling the Assem...
