Jamshedpur, July 25 -- RTI activists in East Singhbhum have alleged threats for seeking information under Rights to Information(RTI) Act. They have reported receiving threatening calls, warning them of dire consequences, including threats to "burn their hands". A delegation of RTI activists met Jamshedpur West MLA Saryu Roy today, urging him to raise the issue in the Assembly. Roy assured them that he would raise the matter during zero hour. According to the RTI Workers' Association, its general secretary, Krittibas Mandal received a threatening call on May 18, which he brought to the notice of the Senior Superintendent of Police on May 20.
