Bengaluru, Nov. 6 -- The Karnataka High Court on Thursday refused to lift the stay on a state government order restricting unauthorised public assemblies of more than 10 people.
The October 18 order, issued against large gatherings in public spaces such as roads, parks, and playgrounds, had reportedly been introduced in the backdrop of proposed marches by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) to mark its 100-year anniversary.
A division bench comprising Justices SG Pandit and Geetha KB dismissed the state's appeal, which sought to overturn the interim order passed by a single judge, Justice M Nagaprasanna, on October 28.
