Chandigarh, Nov. 27 -- A paid killer, Badal, the accused in the murder of RSS leader Naveen Arora was killed in cross-fire between police and a group of gunmen in Fazilka during a police operation.

The suspect was reportedly shot by his own accomplices, resulting in his death.

The firing also left one police officer wounded, who was immediately admitted to the hospital.

The police had brought Badal to Fazilka for weapon recovery when his associates opened fire on the team in an attempt to free him.

DIG Harmanbir Singh Gill stated that the encounter occurred when a team led by DSP City, DSP Detective, and an inspector reached the cremation ground for recovery.
