Chandigarh, Nov. 16 -- An RSS leader's grandson was shot dead in Punjab's Firozpur district on Friday, in what police suspect to be a targeted killing. The man was attacked in the busy Mochi Bazaar area while he was on his way to pick up his children from school. Two assailants approached him from behind and fired at his head, leaving him critically injured. He was rushed to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Soon after the incident, a post circulating on social media purportedly issued by a Khalistan-linked outfit identifying itself as the "Sher-e-Punjab Brigade" claimed responsibility for the attack.
