Bhubaneswar, Sept. 11 -- The state-of-the-art Hot Strip Mill-2 (HSM-2) of Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) has set a new single-day production record.
According to RSP sources, HSM-2 rolled 9,671 tonnes of slab weight on September 10 to produce 439 coils weighing 9,450 tonnes. This is the highest-ever achievement in terms of slabs rolled, total slab weight, and coil weight.
The feat surpasses the previous record set on September 7, 2025, when 9,638 tonnes of slab weight were rolled into 438 coils weighing 9,444 tonnes.
RSP Director In-Charge Alok Verma, along with senior officials, visited HSM-2 on Thursday to congratulate the team.
