Dharamshala, Aug. 8 -- Kangra Deputy Commissioner Hemraj Bairwa today said that under the Himachal Pradesh Government's ambitious Sukhashraya Scheme, Rs. 10 crore has been spent in the district to provide support to 1,241 destitute children.

Presiding over a review meeting of the scheme at the DC office, Bairwa informed that Rs. 41.19 lakh has been provided to 158 children for vocational training, Rs.1.68 lakh to three children for coaching, Rs. 1.59 crore to 80 children as marriage assistance, Rs. 1.22 crore to 122 children for house construction, and Rs. 6.55 crore to 878 children under social security.

The meeting also approved 37 new cases worth Rs. 58 lakh related to higher education, vocational training, marriage assistance, housing...
