New Delhi, Aug. 8 -- The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, today approved four new components under the Central Sector Scheme of Special Development Packages (SDPs) for Assam and Tripura, with a total outlay of Rs.4,250 crore.

These initiatives aim to boost infrastructure, livelihood, and skill development, fostering employment, especially for youth and women, and promoting peace and socio-economic stability in affected communities. According to an official statement here, key allocations include Rs 500 crore for infrastructure in Adivasi areas of Assam.
