Bhubaneswar, Sept. 15 -- The Special Enforcement personnel of Odisha Excise department has made a seizure of Rs 1.45 crore drugs banned under Narcotic Drug and Psychotropic Substance (NDPS) Act in the last 24 hours, an official said today.
"On the fourteenth day of the Enforcement Special Drive, excise officials across Odisha reported seizures worth nearly Rs 1.45 crore, reflecting the department's intensified crackdown on illicit liquor and narcotics trade", according to an official statement issued today.
As many as 167 cases were detected, leading to the arrest of 40 individuals. The enforcement squads seized 12,388 bulk litres of illicitly distilled liquor, 328 bulk litres of duty-paid liquor. Besides, it destroyed more than 1,16,975 ...
