Bhubaneswar, Sept. 29 -- The special enforcement squads of Odisha Excise Department has made a seizure of Rs 1.32 crore worth contraband and arrested 41 people after conducting simultaneous raids across the State in the last 24 hours.
Since the past one month, the department has embarked on a drive to nab the drug peddlers and illicit liquor traders on a war footing.
Yesterday's raids yielded results with contraband worth Rs 1.32 crore seized on the 28th day of operations. Enforcement teams detected 249 cases and arrested 41 persons in a series of raids carried out across the state.
The crackdown led to the seizure of 15,661 bulk litres of illicitly distilled liquor and 698 bulk litres of duty-paid liquor, while 1,72,805 bulk litres of w...
