Chennai, Sept. 17 -- In a swift action, a Railway Protection Force (RPF) jawansaved the life of an elderly passenger, when he was dragged along the platform whileattempting to board an EMU suburban train in Chennai today.
Southern Railway sources said at about 1127 hrs, while an EMU train was departingfrom Platform No. 2 at Chennai Park Railway Station, an elderly passenger, Dayalan,aged 71 years, attempted to board the moving train.
In the process, he lost his balance and was dragged along the platform.
On duty RPF Constable Ajay Singh reacted promptly and with great presence of mindpulled the passenger away from danger and saved his life.
