Chennai, Nov. 22 -- A notorious rowdy wanted in a murder case was shot at and arrested by the Greater Chennai City police today.
The suspect, Vijayakumar, was shot by the police in the leg while trying to escape after attacking a special team which went to arrest him.
Along with Vijayakumar, police also apprehended two other accused Gautham and Niranjan, who were wanted for the same murder case.
When the special team surrounded him and tried to arrest him, Vijayakumar attacked a cop with a knife, inflicting cut injuries, and tried to flee. Police, in an act of self defence, shot him at his leg and arrested him.
