Shimla, March 30 -- Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu denied any significant increase in the entry tax on vehicles coming to Himachal Pradesh from neighbouring states.
Responding to the issue raised through a point of order by Leader of Opposition, Jai Ram Thakur, in the Assembly on Monday, the Chief Minister said the increase seen in the entry tax was due to the linking of the entry tax with Fastag by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).
He said there has been no significant increase in entry tax for small vehicles, while the tax for heavy vehicles has gone up by Rs 40.
