Chandigarh, July 24 -- The appointment of Vikas Barala, son of Haryana BJP Rajya Sabha MP Subhash Barala, as Assistant Advocate General (AAG) has sparked a controversy. Vikas, accused of molesting a former IAS officer's daughter in Chandigarh in 2017, is currently out on bail with the case still pending in court.

The woman expressed her outrage in a four-page Facebook post, stating, "This isn't just a political decision; it's a test of moral values." Opposition leaders, including Congress MLA Jassi Petwar and INLD MLA Aditya Chautala, slammed the move as "nepotism" and an "insult to democracy," demanding its immediate reversal.
