Buenos Aires, Nov. 27 -- David Romero scored in the second half as Tigre advanced to the quarterfinals of Argentina's Primera Division with a 1-0 away win over Lanus.
On Wednesday, Romero broke the deadlock just after halftime when he intercepted Ignacio Russo's long-range effort and volleyed home with his back to the goal.
Lanus controlled most of the possession and had 14 shots, only three of which were on target.
The hosts' best scoring chance came just after the hour when Rodrigo Castillo had a goal disallowed following the intervention of the video assistant referee.
The result leaves Lanus out of the title race, while Tigre will face Racing away on Monday for a place in the semifinals.
