Nagpur, Dec. 10 -- NCP (Sharad Pawar faction) MLA Rohit Pawar on Tuesday claimed that public universities in Maharashtra are witnessing a decline in quality due to the growing influence of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), a trend he warned could negatively affect the future of the state's youth.

Speaking to reporters at the Vidhan Bhavan premises here, Pawar, who represents Karjat-Jamkhed constituency in Ahilyanagar district, said that if this trend continues, India could fall behind other nations in terms of development and progress.
