Mumbai, Oct. 10 -- Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar faction) MLA Rohit Pawar today launched a scathing attack on the Maharashtra government, alleging that goons, moneylenders, and contractors run it.

Addressing a press conference here, Pawar said that Pune, once known as Maharashtra's cultural capital, has now become the capital of corruption and crime.

Pawar claimed that Nilesh Ghaywal, a notorious criminal booked under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA), has close ties with several BJP and Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) leaders. He alleged that these leaders may have helped Marne flee abroad.
