Itanagar, April 2 -- Arunachal Pradesh Forest and Environment Minister Wangki Lowang said on Thursday that a rogue elephant, which reportedly killed several people, has been successfully identified and captured with the assistance of an expert team from the Karnataka Forest Department.
A 12-member expert team from Karnataka reached Deomali, Tirap district on March 30 last to track and relocate the rogue elephant responsible for multiple human casualties in the district over the past two years.
Led by Dr Ramesha H, a senior veterinary officer and elephant specialist, the team comprised experts in tranquilisation, wildlife monitoring, and trained mahouts from Karnataka's elephant camps.
