Chennai, Aug. 9 -- The Indian space agency said private rocket maker Skyroot Aerospace has achieved a major milestone with the successful testing of the rocket's first-stage motor.
The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) said that the first static test of the KALAM 1200 motor - the first stage of Skyroot Aerospace's Vikram-1 rocket - was successfully completed at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota.
"This is a major milestone in the configuration and realisation of systems for the Vikram-1 launch vehicle. The motor is an 11 m long, 1.7 m diameter monolithic composite motor with a propellant mass of 30 tonnes," ISRO said.
