Chandigarh, Jan. 1 -- A robbery accused escaped from the custody of the Ludhiana Commissionerate Police in Khanna, raising fresh concerns over security protocols during the transit of undertrial suspects. The incident occurred while the police team was returning to Ludhiana after a recovery operation linked to a robbery case.

According to official sources, the accused has been identified as Santosh Kumar, a resident of Majri Mohalla on Khalsa School Road in Khanna. He is wanted in a robbery case registered at Jamalpur police station in Ludhiana. A police team led by an Assistant Sub-Inspector had taken the accused to Khanna for recovery related to the case.
