Dharamshala, Aug. 28 -- Kangra Deputy Commissioner Hemraj Bairwa today directed officials to carry out restoration of damaged roads, drinking water and irrigation schemes on a war footing following the heavy rains in the district.

Reviewing the damage caused by incessant rainfall at a meeting held in the NIC auditorium, the DC said that nearly 65 link roads and about 92 drinking water schemes had been disrupted across Kangra district.

The Irrigation and Public Health (IPH) and Public Works Department (PWD) have been asked to submit detailed reports so that timely repair works can be taken up.

Mr Bairwa instructed the sub-divisional officers to ensure prompt relief and rehabilitation efforts without any lapse.
