Srinagar, Feb. 13 -- A road rage incident that began in Srinagar escalated into violence in Tangmarg area of Baramulla district on Thursday afternoon, when a group of miscreants attacked an XUV-300 vehicle carrying five occupants, police said.
The vehicle, bearing a Haryana registration number, was carrying three men from Haryana and two women from South Kashmir when it was intercepted and attacked by individuals trailing them from Srinagar. The incident occurred around 1:45 PM in the jurisdiction of Police Station Tangmarg.
A police team rushed to the spot for rescue but was also assaulted, with one Head Constable sustaining a head injury. However, several local residents intervened to assist the police in rescuing the victims.
