Kabul, May 28 -- At least two commuters lost their lives and four others sustained injuries in a road mishap in eastern Afghanistan's Ghazni province, the state-owned Bakhtar news agency reported on Wednesday.

The traffic accident occurred when an over-speeding passenger vehicle veered off the road and turned turtle in Gelan district, along the highway connecting the capital Kabul to southern Kandahar province, leaving two travelers dead on the spot and four others injured, Bakhtar reported, citing provincial police spokesman Khalid Sarhadi.

Without disclosing further details, the official blamed reckless driving for the incident, saying all the injured passengers were taken to a nearby health center.
