Mumbai, Aug. 23 -- The Gadchiroli district police in Maharashtra have registered a case against Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav for allegedly posting an "objectionable" tweet against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The First Information Report (FIR) was lodged after Gadchiroli's Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Milind Ramji Narote filed a complaint, alleging that Yadav's post on X was made ahead of the Prime Minister's visit to Gaya, Bihar, on Friday.
A police official said the FIR was registered under Sections 196 (promoting enmity between different groups), 356 (defamation), 352 (intentional insult with intent to provoke a breach of peace), and 353 (statements that cause public mischief) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
