Bhagalpur, April 12 -- Amid intensifying political speculation in Bihar, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) on Sunday criticised the Bharatiya Janata Party for initiating the process of selecting a new Chief Minister even before Nitish Kumar formally resigns.

RJD state spokesperson Arun Kumar Yadav noted that the BJP has appointed union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan as an observer to oversee the selection of the BJP Legislature Party leader in Bihar. He claimed that Chouhan would arrive from Delhi "with a slip," which would be opened before party legislators to reveal the name of the next Chief Minister.
