Patna, Dec. 31 -- The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) on Wednesday demanded from Bihar Governor Arif Mohammad Khan for a probe into the controversial appointment of state minister Ashok Choudhary as an assistant lecturer, and the subsequent removal of his name from the appointment list.

In a letter to the Governor, RJD national spokesperson Prof Naval Kishore Yadav cited a report published three days ago in an English daily, which stated that the name of Ashok Choudhary, who had earlier been appointed at the post of Assistant Lecturer, was dropped from the appointment list.

Yadav pointed out that Ashok Choudhary had taken oath as a minister only about a month ago in the presence of the Governor.
