Shimla, Nov. 16 -- Residents of Jubberhatti-Kalon are increasingly alarmed over heightened leopard activity along the road over the past 10-15 days, putting people, livestock, and pets at risk.

Recent incidents include a dog being seized by a leopard and a biker being chased, though the rider narrowly escaped. Locals estimate that four to five leopards are active in the area, with two even spotted in daylight near the airport strip. Earlier attacks have claimed a sheep and another dog, while sightings of wild hares and fowl have noticeably declined.
