Rajkot, Aug. 24 -- Veteran Indian Test batsman Cheteshwar Pujara today announced his retirement from international cricket, saying the time had come for younger players to take more opportunities, including at India's crucial No.3 position in Tests.

"This felt like the right time because youngsters should get opportunities. The No.3 spot is not easy, but there are promising players like Sai Sudharsan and Arun Nair who have begun well. Over time, we will know who settles there, but the talent in this Indian team is immense," Pujara told reporters here.
