Aizawl, July 17 -- The Food Corporation of India (FCI)'s divisional office in Aizawl has confirmed that the transportation of rice to Manipur's Churachandpur and other districts via Mizoram has been discontinued, following the restoration of direct road connectivity through Assam and Imphal after months of ethnic unrest in the neighbouring state.

FCI officials said on Thursday that the temporary route through Mizoram, which was operational from June 2023, was discontinued in April this year once regular movement of essential commodities resumed through the Jiribam-Imphal axis.
