Shimla, Oct. 25 -- During a routine inspection conducted by the State Food Commission, Himachal Pradesh, serious irregularities were detected at several Anganwadi Centres under the Dhar Chandna Circle in Kupvi Sub-Division of Shimla district.
The inspection revealed that 10 Anganwadi Centres were found locked, following which the concerned workers were called to open the centres for inspection.
Upon examination of the nutritional supplies, it was found that the rice meant for distribution to children was infested with rice weevil larvae and moth worms.
