Hyderabad, March 11 -- Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA), Shamshabad, on Tuesday issued a clarification refuting recent reports claiming a major accident was narrowly averted at the airport.
In response to media coverage suggesting that an IndiGo Airlines flight from Goa to Visakhapatnam was forced to execute a reverse takeoff to avoid a potential collision, RGIA authorities confirmed that no such incident occurred.
The airport authorities emphasised that there was no threat to the flight's safety, and the reported event was misrepresented. RGIA also urged media outlets to verify facts before publishing such reports to avoid creating unnecessary concern and damaging the airport's reputation.
