Kochi, Sept. 3 -- The Coconut Development Board (CDB) marked World Coconut Day by launching its revised development schemes aimed at accelerating the integrated growth of the sector and by presenting its annual Export Excellence Awards to leading companies in the industry.

The national-level celebrations, held at Angamaly, drew over 1,500 coconut farmers from 150 Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) across Kerala, besides entrepreneurs and industry leaders.

Inaugurating the function, CDB Board Member and Kozhikode MP M.K. Raghavan said the revamped schemes would help farmers overcome challenges posed by climate change, pest attacks and market fluctuations. He urged growers in Kerala to treat the new initiatives as an "Onam gift" and work ...
