Prayagraj, Sept. 28 -- The Vigilance Department has once again exposed deep-rooted corruption in the Revenue Department.

Mohammad Ayub, a Revenue Inspector posted in the Vishwanathganj Circle of Pratapgarh district, was caught red-handed by a Vigilance team from Prayagraj while accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 today.

A case has been registered against Mohammad Ayub under the Prevention of Corruption Act.

He is set to be produced before the Anti-Corruption Court in Gorakhpur tomorrow.

Authorities have also indicated that Ayub will soon be suspended from his duties.

The action follows a complaint filed by Rajaram, a resident of Ramnagar Mandhata village, who approached the Vigilance Office a few days ago.
