Amethi, Sept. 11 -- A revenue clerk posted at Amethi Tehsil was caught red-handed accepting a bribe of Rs 7,000 by the Ayodhya Anti-Corruption team.

The arrest was made yesterday evening near Durgapur market on the Durgapur-Amethi State Highway, with three official vehicles accompanying the operation.

This is not the first case, the Anti-Corruption team has previously arrested two revenue clerks, one revenue inspector, and a court assistant, all of whom were sent to jail.

The operation was led by Anti-Corruption team in-charge Hariom Mishra. According to officials, legal proceedings were underway at the Piparpur Police Station till late night.
