Bhubaneswar, Sept. 23 -- A retired forest range officer today convicted by a Special Vigilance Court after the Court found him guilty of receiving illegal monetary gratification and sentenced him to undergo 4-year rigorous imprisonment.
"Kishore Kumar Nayak, Former Forest Range Officer, Digapahandi in Ganjam district (retired), who was charge sheeted by Odisha Vigilance U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(d)/7 PC Act, 1988 for demanding and taking bribe Rs.30,000 from a complainant to not take legal action against him for seizure of timber from his house, was convicted by Special Judge, Vigilance, Berhampur and sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of 4 years and fine", said Vigilance in a statement.
