Retired BSF soldier found murdered inside his house in Mathura

Mathura, July 24 -- A retired Border Security Force (BSF) soldier, Vinod Pandey (56), was found murdered inside his residence in Gopi Vihar Colony, Mathura, police said today.

Pandey, originally from Almora in Uttarakhand, had been living in Mathura for 25 years. After voluntarily retiring from the BSF, he had adopted the name Vinod Krishna Das and dedicated his life to religious devotion as a follower of Radharani.

Police sources said his hands and legs were tied, and there were visible injury marks on his body. A cloth was also found stuffed into his mouth. There were signs of a struggle inside the house, with cupboards left open and belongings scattered. The idol of Radharani was also found disturbed.
