Ranchi, July 11 -- The Jharkhand government has notified the implementation of the 'Jharkhand Utpaad (Licensing and Operation of Retail Liquor Shops) Rules, 2025', marking a significant policy shift in the retail sale of liquor across the state. The notification, issued by the Excise and Prohibition Department, says the rules come into immediate effect, with full operationalisation from September 1.
As per departmental notification, all retail liquor outlets in the state will henceforth be governed by the new regulations. Rule 57(i) of the policy overrides all previous norms related to the retail sale of liquor.
